In the segment of SUV crossovers, every leading automaker has made its mark by releasing in the market a handful of models that are aimed to take over the market of each other. Among them, the 2020 edition of Ford Escape could successfully secure its own place, with its refined and redefined tack, while its hybrid edition makes a comeback into the scene.

Lining Up for 2020 Model Year Edition

To explore the 2020 lineup of this newly released Ford crossover, we visited our nearby Calexico Ford dealer showroom, where the 2020 Ford Escape was standing with its three different flavors of engine capacities, like the turbo-3, turbo-4 hustler, and a hybrid that also can be ordered as a plug-in hybrid.

With these power options on hand, the 2020 year lineup of Escape dresses up in five different trim levels, which they name as SE, SE Sport, SEL, and Titanium added to the above said flavors. So the final  lineup of the 2020 Ford Escape variants actually counts a number of seven when you consider the turbo and hybrid models configured as front- or all-wheel drives.

Overall Impression

For the year 2020, Ford has decided to soften down the personality of the Escape series that toned down from its earlier hot and sharp lines to something that carries more of an organic impression, making it look more down to earth. The revised body looks somber with its basic blackish skin inside the cabin that is piped and trimmed with a scattered usage of quality plastic distortions.

Power source and Driving Dynamics

The 2020 lineup of Ford Escape can be a wonderful example of how a wide range of power options can be accommodated in a single model of SUV crossover. As the brand reads Ford, we can be rest assured that the entire range of trim models will be given the best of power options with the most effective driving dynamics.

Proving this point right, Ford has even equipped the Base models of 2020 Escape the power of a turbo-3 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the more sporty models are powered by a much stronger engine of turbo-4 capacity tailored as all-wheel drive.

As the Hybrid option makes a prominent comeback this year, the buyers get the confidence to drive uninterruptedly with the help of lithium-ion batteries that can maximize the otherwise efficient powertrain to its optimum level.

Interior Trims

The interior cabins of the 2020 Ford Escape lineup that we explored at the showroom of the Calexico Ford dealership looked humble. They are mostly harnessed with abundant usage of high quality upholstery materials  edged with a scanty amount of hard surfaces made of good quality plastic. Space inside each cabin is more than enough to accommodate all the passengers with ease I, even at the rearmost seat that offers excellent leg room.

To hold your stuff behind the rear seat, Ford allots 40 cubic feet of cargo space that increases its utility count more than many of its closest rivals.

As the Editor-in-Chief of 8Blogs.com, she leads the editorial vision of one of the web's most ambitious business and industry publications — a platform dedicated to delivering sharp, credible, and actionable content for professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders across the globe. Abby's journey into the world of professional writing and editing began long before her byline appeared on any publication. Growing up with a natural curiosity for how businesses work, how economies shift, and how leadership shapes organizations, she found herself drawn to the intersection of journalism and business from an early age. That passion led her to Ohio University — one of the United States' most respected public research universities, located in Athens, Ohio — where she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. Ohio University's School of Media Arts and Studies gave Abby a rigorous academic foundation in editorial ethics, news writing, investigative reporting, audience analysis, and multimedia storytelling. It was here that she developed the disciplined writing habits and critical thinking skills that would define her professional career. She graduated with a deep understanding of what separates good content from truly great content — and a firm commitment to always delivering the latter. Before stepping into a full editorial role, Abby gained invaluable real-world experience through internships at newspapers, regional magazines, and online publishing companies. These early career placements were formative. Working in fast-paced newsrooms taught her how to research under pressure, verify facts rigorously, and write with clarity and precision on tight deadlines. Her internship experiences also gave her a front-row seat to the rapid transformation of media — from print-first thinking to digital-first strategy — a shift she embraced fully and has championed ever since. Over the following six to seven years, Abby built a diverse and impressive portfolio spanning writing, reporting, editorial assistance, and content strategy. She has covered topics ranging from startup ecosystems and venture capital trends to leadership philosophy, workplace culture, global trade, and emerging technologies. Her work is consistently praised for being well-researched, reader-friendly, and genuinely insightful — never sacrificing depth for the sake of brevity, nor clarity for the sake of complexity. At 8Blogs.com, Abby oversees a broad editorial mandate that spans twelve content categories including Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Technology, HR, Sustainability, and Global Business. She sets the tone, maintains editorial standards, and ensures that every article published reflects the publication's core values — integrity, depth, and practical intelligence. When she is not editing or writing, Abby stays close to the business world through industry events, professional reading, and mentoring emerging writers who are just beginning their own editorial journeys.
