The fourth largest auto market in the world is India, and it also happens to be the fastest growing in the world. This represents a juicy opportunity for automakers to come in the market and introduce new models and experiment. The well-established brands in India are already dipping all their fingers in the pie. The fastest growing auto segment is the sub-4 metre SUV.

With a rise in the income of Indian families, the logical solution is to purchase a sports utility vehicle. It can fit more than 4 people and has plenty of space to accommodate luggage and more passengers. Indian roads today are filled with SUVs and this is due to rising demand as well as affordable pricing.

Among the carmakers that have been around from the start, Tata motors stand out. They have been in the business for a long time and are based in India. One of their vehicles, the Indica is by far the most popular hatchback sold in the country. They are looking to expand their horizon and with cars such as the Hexa, a solid 4×4 SUV which has become one of the most popular vehicles in the segment.

They now plan to release a flagship SUV which will go by the name of Harrier, which was first announced as a concept car at the start of the year. The car has been spotted multiple times in various cities and is in a very rigorous testing phase. The Harrier Tata motors are a set to take the industry by storm, with a unique design borrowing some elements from its European counterparts. It is certainly an eye catcher and was the most talked about car when it was first introduced in the motor show.

It also features some new technology such as all daytime running lamps and dynamic bending reflectors to give better visibility on corners. The chassis is a very heavily modified version from the Land Rover. The car is expected to come with a 2-litre Multijet engine and will come in a six-speed transmission with an automatic as well as a manual variant. This will help it maintain extremely competitive prices. The car will also get a 4WD, which also has a terrain response system to help get through the toughest of roads India has to offer.

The car is set to be the most expensive offering from Tata Motors and will come with premium leather seats, speakers and a full set of airbags. It is also expected to compete with vehicles such as the Jeep compass and others in the same segment. The unique advantage it will have is that it will be priced much better than any other car in the same category. The delivery of the first vehicles is expected to start somewhere around early 2019. If you have been looking for an SUV with a full set of features, you might want to hold your horses and get the Harrier when it finally launches. Among Tata upcoming cars, you will want to keep your eyes on this one.

As the Editor-in-Chief of 8Blogs.com, she leads the editorial vision of one of the web's most ambitious business and industry publications — a platform dedicated to delivering sharp, credible, and actionable content for professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders across the globe. Abby's journey into the world of professional writing and editing began long before her byline appeared on any publication. Growing up with a natural curiosity for how businesses work, how economies shift, and how leadership shapes organizations, she found herself drawn to the intersection of journalism and business from an early age. That passion led her to Ohio University — one of the United States' most respected public research universities, located in Athens, Ohio — where she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. Ohio University's School of Media Arts and Studies gave Abby a rigorous academic foundation in editorial ethics, news writing, investigative reporting, audience analysis, and multimedia storytelling. It was here that she developed the disciplined writing habits and critical thinking skills that would define her professional career. She graduated with a deep understanding of what separates good content from truly great content — and a firm commitment to always delivering the latter. Before stepping into a full editorial role, Abby gained invaluable real-world experience through internships at newspapers, regional magazines, and online publishing companies. These early career placements were formative. Working in fast-paced newsrooms taught her how to research under pressure, verify facts rigorously, and write with clarity and precision on tight deadlines. Her internship experiences also gave her a front-row seat to the rapid transformation of media — from print-first thinking to digital-first strategy — a shift she embraced fully and has championed ever since. Over the following six to seven years, Abby built a diverse and impressive portfolio spanning writing, reporting, editorial assistance, and content strategy. She has covered topics ranging from startup ecosystems and venture capital trends to leadership philosophy, workplace culture, global trade, and emerging technologies. Her work is consistently praised for being well-researched, reader-friendly, and genuinely insightful — never sacrificing depth for the sake of brevity, nor clarity for the sake of complexity. At 8Blogs.com, Abby oversees a broad editorial mandate that spans twelve content categories including Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Technology, HR, Sustainability, and Global Business. She sets the tone, maintains editorial standards, and ensures that every article published reflects the publication's core values — integrity, depth, and practical intelligence. When she is not editing or writing, Abby stays close to the business world through industry events, professional reading, and mentoring emerging writers who are just beginning their own editorial journeys.
